- Meet new friends, learn new art, take home a new project every day at Ceramic Canvas Summer Camps, in Manhattan. - K-State at Salina for K-State Kids' College! is inexpensive, educational, and lots of fun, for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Kids (with their parents' help) can make up their own "schedule," just like college students do, mixing and matching their favorite interests. The excitement takes place March 23 and 24. Registration is $30 for one child; an additional $25 for second child; and an additional $20 for each child after the second, per family. - Slagle Baton and Dance Camps, of Clay Center, will have fun in every step this summer. Ballet, tap, baton, jazz, hip hop, tumbling, stretching and technique will be the focus as students are grouped by age and rotate to different teachers and stations. - Rock Springs, near Junction City, is all about camping, all summer long. 4-H Camps meet there during June. Call your local 4-H agent for details. Family Camps hold sessions July 3-5, 5-7, 14-16, August 11-13 and Sept 1-3. - Pioneer Camp, sponsored by the Dickinson County Historical Society, in Abilene, will host 3rd, 4th and 5th grade boys & girls this summer, June 5-9 & June 12-16. Campers' learn-by-doing' how folks lived in the 1880's. Activities include milking goats, spinning and weaving wool, cooking and baking, spending a day in the prairie and going to a one-room school. - GROW Summer Workshop at KSU, is designed specifically for girls finishing 6th & 7th grades this year. They are invited to attend a three-day hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics workshop, June 21-23. Girls will be escorted by KSU female students during their time on campus and in the dorms at night. The cost of the workshop is $150 including meals, dorm fees, workshop materials & t-shirt. - EXCITE! Summer Workshop at KSU is a four-day workshop, June 26-29, for girls graduating from the 8th & 9th grades. This intense hands-on experience in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) is led by K-State faculty. Registration is $150, which includes room and board, workshop supplies and a t-shirt. Limited scholarships available. Registration opens in late March 2006. - The Dance Company of Clay Center is gearing up for a Holiday performance of 'The Nutcracker'. This 'nutshell version' of the Christmas Classic will feature the traditional Ballet dancing in addition to Tap and Jazz dance. All age groups will be involved in this memorable performance! - Camp Invention was created by the National Inventors Hall of Fame Foundation with support from the US Patent and Trademark Office. Taught by local teachers, it promises to be a very interesting experience for 1st through 6th graders. Creativity, teamwork, and inventive thinking skills are put to work in archeology, games, marine studies and inventions the week of June 12-15 at McPherson Middle School. - Girl Scouts of Central Kansas will be holding day camp, weekend camp and resident camp through out the council. - Camp Hope is a very special camp for extra special kids! The third week of June children with cancer have the opportunity to experience all the activities of this American Cancer Society camp. - It's all about the round ball for girls at the 2006 Deb Patterson Basketball Camps . - The Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center , Hutchinson, has camp opportunities for all ages. with a unique blend of classroom instruction and experiential learning to engage campers in the full understanding of the challenges & risks inherent in space exploration. Children grades 2-4 can investigate space: grades 3-5 study the principles of flight, and the Mars Academy is for students entering grades 5-6.
